Notice of Settlement
A Legal Settlement has been reached in a lawsuit against Match Group, Inc. about automatically-renewing subscriptions of paid online dating site memberships. The Superior Court of the State of California, County of Santa Cruz has authorized this notice.

As part of the Settlement, certain customers who subscribed to Match Group portfolio companies’ dating sites are entitled to financial compensation.

Are you included in the Settlement Class?
You are included in the Settlement Class if you first enrolled in a paid subscription with any of Match Group, Inc.’s portfolio companies, including Tinder, Match, OkCupid, Hinge, PlentyOfFish, Our Time, etc., from January 26, 2013 to July 7, 2021, and you provided a billing zip code located in the State of California at the time of enrollment. You must also have been charged for at least one automatically-renewed cycle without your knowledge or consent and between January 26, 2013 and July 7, 2021. In addition, you must have either:
  • requested a refund following the renewal of your first time purchase of a membership, including a renewal after the expiration of a free trial period, and had your refund request denied;
  • requested to cancel your first time membership or to receive a refund after your first time membership automatically renewed and had your request denied or delayed so that you were charged an additional membership fee;
  • complained directly to a brand owned by Match Group, Inc., a law enforcement agency such as the Attorney General or a District Attorney, or to the Better Business Bureau that your first time membership was automatically renewed without your knowledge or consent; or
  • requested to cancel your first time purchase of a membership and receive a refund within 45-days of your membership renewing and had your refund request denied.
If you previously obtained a refund of any automatic renewal charges, you are not eligible for additional compensation under the Settlement.
What can you get from the Settlement?
Each eligible consumer may receive $25.00.
